I am pretty certain that Google has hit a homerun with Google+. I have spent "0" time on Facebook and Twitter. I wasn't a prolific blogger to begin with but Google+ has become the platform I have been looking for. Posterous has filled the gap between all the other services for short post, fun things to share, and topics I want to gripe about. All I am saying, is I maybe moving soon. If this trend holds, there will be no need to occupy space here.

I would encourage you to look into all the products made from hemp. One of these, white paper, that doesn't require bleaching. For a farmer, hemp, requires little pesticides or irrigation.

    QB1 is an Energy-Positive Tiny House http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/jetson_green/~3/APCEZtU7tGs/qb1-solar-powered-...

Place it near water and a bike rack... I'd give it a shot. Better than a cardboard box.

This post is for all my friends, and family, that has purchased their kids iPhones, iTouch, friggin iPads, and all other devices with an app store. You gave your child a device with purchasing power without you even understanding its power. Live with the consequences. Instead use your child's naive-ness to cover your own. I know it's not a word! To get out of it.

I hope that judge gives this guy a talking to.

The coolest thing I own.  Well,  do you really own an heirloom? OK. One of the coolest things I am responsible for:
    Elgin Pocket Watch
My father just passed it down to me.  I believe he got it from his father. Who in turn may have got it from his.

It is beautiful. As you can see it is gold. The back is a case, with a door, similar to a locket. I found a small piece of paper stating the warranty and serial number of the case. I know it's the cases serial number from reading the message boards. The serial number for the watch is inside. There is a picture showing its inscription. So off to the tubes to see if I can search the serial number of when this thing was made.

I did a search for Elgin Pocket Watches. Of course, it's what makes the Internet crack, there is a Elgin website. I can even search the serial numbers. So I opened the back. Easy. I found even more simple beauty. From what I can tell Elgin is also a city in Illinois.

NOTE: Was Illinois, at the time, the place time pieces made?  When I did my initial search there was also a Illinois watch company.

    There's the serial number.  Entered.
    I was surprised.
It says this particular watch is one of 2000 made in 1894.

    Cool.

No. I don't want to know what it is worth. I thought about it. But feel if I know that is considering a value to part with it.

Now think about this. My dad never wound it. The first thing I did was. It works. 117 years later and it is still keeping perfect time. Whoa. I don't have a watch that I would consider passing on after using it and expect it to work.

In today's society are we even expected to hold onto any item forever? Is anything even made that well anymore? Excluding a Rolex. I have never owned one or will but it would have to be a kinetic version.

UPDATE:Added link to my serial number search

HGTV Green Home Earns LEED Platinum http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/jetson_green/~3/R0PpPppJ2AQ/hgtv-green-home-pl...

Most of the homes made for HGTV Dream Home Giveaway have been too dreamy for me to get behind. This one however has grabbed my attention. Sensible size at 2400 s.f. and design. The price tag is a way different story. The approx $700k is probably low. Either way it is valued at $300 per square foot. Waking up from that dream you better apologize!

It's to bad really because the home shows the beauty of going green but continues the fear of being expensive.

It's a dream home though, so I will continue to lust.
